PTI blog hop - scallops

The challenge - to incorporate scallops.  There are five scallops altogether - Fillable frame #4 is the mat, the sentiment is on two of the 'scalloped' die cuts from Limitless Layers circles, which themselves form a scallop shape, and then the button are arranged in somewhat of a scallop.

I stamped the bird images onto felt (which made a faint outline) and then cut out by hand, and then outlined with a T4 copic.  I had a great time picking out my buttons - probably the most time intensive part of this project!

Supplies; Stamps - Little bitty bird, Paper - Library Ledger PP, cream, kraft, fine linen, Ink - dark chocolate, T4 copic, Other - buttons (New leaf, Hawaiian shores, Aqua mist, cream), dies (Fillable Frame 4, Limitless Layers circles 1 3/4''), felt (Hawaiian shores, Simply chartreuse), twine.

Aqua bitty bird

All the talk of button dies has gotten me using lots of my (regular) buttons.  I also got some new copics so had to try them out.  The polka dot background is stamped in Aqua but hard to see.  I cut out the birds by hand.  And (gasp!) I distressed the edges of the image.

Supplies; Stamps - Little bitty bird, Polka dots 2, Paper - Aqua mist, cream, Ink - Aqua mist, black, Distress ink (tea), copics (Simply chartreuse, Aqua mist, Hawaiian shores, grey), Other - Buttons (New leaf, Aqua mist, cream), Mat stack 1 die, twine.

Grown-up Valentines

I had a sheet of patterned paper I liked, so I matched up the colours to cardstock/ribbon, then stamped a sentiment in black and versamark and heat embossed.

I was lucky that my other wanted stamp from 2010 Love Tags was on sale from the same person on the forum!!  It was obviously meant to be.  :)

The backgrounds are stamped in versamark but a little hard to see in the photos.

Supplies; Stamps - Valentine Tags, Fancy Flourishes, BB: Music Sheet, Paper - Patterned (?Fancy pants), Going grey, Soft stone, Ink - Black, versamark, Other - Sweet blush satin ribbon, Scallop scallop punch, clear embossing powder.

Kiddie Valentines

For my daughter's friends;

I had some mini pink envelopes (2.5'' square) from Michael's, so I decided to make Valentines that fit inside.  Nothing too time consuming, as they might not make it home.  :)

The heart image was my favourite from the 2010 Love Tags collection, and someone on the forum wanted to sell it, so lucky for me!  I stamped it in red on white cardstock and snipped out quickly.  The frame is a part of Fillable frame 6.  A little sparkle over the top of the 'i' in mine.

Supplies;  Stamps - BB: hearts, Valentines tags, Paper - Raspberry fizz, Hibiscus burst, white, Ink - Real red, black, Other - fillable frame #6 die, silver glitter glue.

DH's Christmas card

I know, I know, it's almost the middle of february...

This is the card I made for my husband this year.   He gave me that penguin stamp last year for Christmas.   Penguins mean something to us, as we were trying to get a glimpse of them at sunset on a beach in New Zealand, and almost got eaten by a sea lion instead. The tide was coming in, we were losing beach to walk on, it was getting dark...  It was a super-adrenalin charged event, and even hours later we were running on crazy energy.  Now that we have our daugher it will be awhile before we do something as crazy again.

Supplies: Stamps - penguins (unknown), TT: Christmas, Paper - rustic white, Ink - copics, Other - glitter glue.
