Picnic plaid

 I can't help it - every time I see gingham, I think picnic blanket, regardless of the colour.  So - a picnic plaid card today (ink Pear Tart by Memento), complete with butterflies;

The patterned paper is called Madelaine from Prima, and it's my most favourite paper yet! Such a fun colour palette.  I overstamped the border with a Label basics frame.

Supplies; Stamps - Gingham (Impression obsession), Label basics, Tiny tags, Paper - Fine linen, white, Madelaine PP, Other - Ocean tides felt, Hawaiian shores buttons, Love lives here die, white satin ribbon, 1/8'' silk ribbon.

The technique that I learned that I am using, is to use a strip of vellum across the front of the card.  It is such a 'light' material that doesn't take away from the other elements on the card (like the gorgeous impression plate), but also anchors the butterfly, and provides a good place for a sentiment. 

Supplies: stamps - Everyday Button Bits (PTI), paper - sweet blush, vellum (PTI), DSP (SU), ink - Tuxedo black stamped off once (Memento), other  - In Bloom impression plate (PTI), Beautiful Butterflies die (SU), 1/4'' silk ribbon (PTI).
