Occassion-less notes

And playing with impression folders.  I made the Big Shot sandwich very tight, and worried that I might break it, but it squeezed through after all.

Quick chevrons

Sometimes a card needs to be made RIGHT NOW, and there are only 5 minutes to work.  This was one such occasion.  I took patterned paper, ran an impression plate over it, quickly stamped a sentiment and outlined it with glue and added glitter.  Done!

Was going to be baby thank yous...

...but it turned out too labour intensive for mass production.  :)  Hard to see, but the In bloom impression plate is on the yellow paper.

Sweet life #2

Similar to one I made just recently, but this time added impression plate on top and some distress ink around edges.  I like how the flourish from the Sweet life set matches the sentiment ones.

M's day

Melissa P had a card with a similar layout, so I thought I'd try the grouping of heart dies.  I'm Thinking this will be a Mother's day card for my Mom this year.

Twin's shower

In expectation of my friend's baby shower. 

I used the first patterned paper I ever bought -  a retired SU that has a nice heavy weight and texture to it.  I coloured in the 'girl' bear with copics.

I've been meaning to make a card like this for awhile - all soft and creams/whites.

The background mat is a gold shimmer cardstock, and it's impressed with In Bloom folder.  The doily was cut out of vellum.  The background stamp with roses is from Impression Obsession.   Lots of distress ink for the edges.

This is my first time using Tiny Tags - eek, so cute and fun!

Card + Gift bag

I found this stunningly gorgeous card here.  I tried to recreate it, but my proportions were all off.  I started down the wrong path because of using a very large greeting font, then I couldn't place the trim on the same side of the bow...  But I like the results anyways.

My mom requested a card for a friend's birthday; the person loves soft greens and browns.   I also decorated a small kraft gift bag;

September PTI blog hop

The technique that I learned that I am using, is to use a strip of vellum across the front of the card.  It is such a 'light' material that doesn't take away from the other elements on the card (like the gorgeous impression plate), but also anchors the butterfly, and provides a good place for a sentiment.
